Early this week, Todd McShay fired a shot at his former colleague Paul Finebaum, calling him an "all-time coward" for his criticism of Alabama head coach Kalen Deboer.

Later in the week, McShay explained his feud with Finebaum, which dates back to his ESPN days and hit a tipping point during Jalen Carter's NFL Draft process. Per SDS:
quote:

"I worked with Paul… under the same umbrella for about a decade. There were several things that rubbed me the wrong way,” McShay described. “I think there’s a loyalty [when you work together]. And several times over the years, he crossed the line on that. It’s like, ‘I thought we were teammates.’

McShay specifically noted Finebaum’s response to his reporting on Jalen Carter as the thing that “pushed him off the edge.” Early in the 2023 NFL Draft process, McShay reported that his sources had character concerns with Carter. News that Carter was involved in a street race — resulting in a crash that killed both a Georgia staffer and football player — seemingly confirmed McShay’s report. Despite this, Finebaum continued denying McShay’s claim, even after the crash became public knowledge.

'The Jalen Carter situation … was what pushed me off the edge,” McShay explained. “I don’t trust the man, I think he’s a coward of a man. And that’s it."

Yeah, Finebaum is a coward and a no talent hack. Only rednecks watch his show.

I don't know or knew anything about a feud between them. I am not really a fan of the reporting or commentary of either of them. But what I do find odd is the timing of these comments. So just in the last 2 weeks Finebaum has outed himself as a conservative Republican and a Trump voter and supporter. We all know how the politics go with his employer and how others conservatives there have been treated. I just think the timing of McShay saying all this is interesting.

Very true. All Finebaum wants to do is fire coaches each week. So dumb and old.

Finebaum found ‘lightning in a bottle’ and rode it. You can’t blame him.
