On October 28th, 1989 Ole Miss defensive back Chucky Mullins’ collided with Vanderbilt fullback Brad Gaines, leaving Mullins a quadriplegic and which eventually led to a pulmonary embolism from blood clots due to inactivity. He later passed away in May of 1991. This year marks the 25th anniversary of that tragic event, and to remember Mullins, Ole Miss AD Ross Bjork announced on Friday that the program will rename Coliseum Drive to Chucky Mullins Drive and dedicate the entire weekend to him titled “It’s Time, The Life And Celebration Of Chucky Mullins”. He also unveiled helmets, with Mullins’ number 38, that the team will wear for the game...
