Mississippi State LB Benardrick McKinney is Butkus Award semifinalist.

It was announced on Monday that Mississippi State linebacker Benardrick McKinney is one of 15 semifinalists for the Butkus Award. Per USAToday:

Created in 1985, the award honors the top linebackers in the country. Finalists will be named November 24 and winners by December 9, by the independent panel of 51 recruiters, scouts, coaches and journalists.

McKinney leads No. 1 Mississippi State with 45 tackles. He’s also second on the team with three sacks and six tackles for loss.
