Per SEC Sports: Hoover, Ala. – Twelve-seed Oklahoma opened its first-ever SEC Baseball Tournament with a statement win, defeating 13-seed Kentucky 5-1 behind timely hitting and standout pitching.

Jason Walk delivered the biggest swing of the day, launching a go-ahead two-run homer in the third inning to give the Sooners a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. Four of Walk’s eight home runs this season have now given Oklahoma the lead.

Easton Carmichael added to the offensive push with a 2-for-4 performance, scoring a run and driving in another. The Sooners plated three runs in the third inning and added insurance late to secure their first win over Kentucky this season after being outscored 19-10 in the regular-season series.
