I remember when he passed away in 2009 pretty vividly. It was just prior to their NYE run in Atlanta, and Vic passed away Christmas morning.
I actually didn't hear about it, until the ride over to Atlanta. This was a reunion of sorts, for bunch of us old guys from in/and around Athens. It was a real bummer.
The guys paid a nice tribute to him in the first set. Fast forward to 47:20 (not to mention the first song in the set as well).
12/31/09 Philips Arena
I always dug how humble Panic was, and how they would bring their FRIENDS out in the grandest stage and put them out front. Whether it was Bloodkin, Kinney, Vic, Jerry Joseph, Keane, Blackmon, Bramblett, etc. They really stayed true to their roots, and you could tell they loved the scene in Athens and appreciated everything they ever received and earned every bit of it. Hell, they even brought out Mike Mills for a couple covers that NYE weekend, including (Don't Go Back To) Rockville.
Here is a good example of their hospitality..
New Years Eve set w/Vic
At the height of their popularity, in a sold out arena, on the biggest night of the year, they brought out Vic and were his backing band.
