I almost wonder (4D chess by Monken) if this is a play where Stetson knows that the odds are he will be running.
It is 3rd and 10.
The play design looks like a rub route that would get Kearis about 6 or 7 yards on the sideline. Stetson's first read looking at Kearis draws the high safety left.
Having the blocking scheme designed for Edwards to cut the 3 tech (seriously... who calls that in the huddle) which would pull in the man coverage linebacker as a free blitzer away from the middle of the field and in chase.
Darnell against man coverage on an in route.
And having the ball on the left hash with all of that room for Stetson to set up defenders to the endzone.
The "weird" part is Dajiun one on one with the 3 tech and how that influences the man coverage linebacker. Otherwise, I would just think it was any other scramble on a blitz.

I'm watching Brooks austin's all 22.
He had an endzone clip on this play.
Too'too was blitzing (not reading the back). It looked like man coverage, but he started in immediately at the snap.
I still don't understand sliding the protection away from the 3 tech (leaving the 205 pound runningback responsible). But from the endzone view, it was a blitz and it looked more like a designed pass play that stays in the pocket.
