Hahahaha no its not what they teach us in school. I mean they are big on building things tight and efficient but no they are essentially teaching us how to point fingers and hire subs hahahaha. I mean i know how to build a house completely and they are teaching BIM technology as opposed to the ancient dinosaur that is CAD!!

What do they say about Mexicans and why is CAD a dinosaur when that's what all the building engineers still use, and they are the ones in charge of hiring GC's, so you are going to be a manager for a GC and not know how to use CAD?

They teach us every facet of building a home including designing them ourselves. The one big thing I think they should integrate more into the major is the business aspect but most of us end up being business minors. Honestly you learn so much more when you get into the real world and work for a company.

They say they are the cheapest and fastest for sure. CAD is a dinosaur but is still the industry standard they teach us CAD but focus on BIM because thats where the future is going. BIM is a million times faster than CAD. A lot of GC's are hiring guys who know BIM so that when the time comes to transfer over they won't have to pay to teach them how to use it. Commercial construction will take some time to get there but residential is evolving much quicker!
