The highlight of the night has been the throw to home by Upton. Everybody in my house went nuts.

There needs to do some tinkering with the lineup. BJ didn't kill us on Sunday, but I really don't like seeing him in the two hole. Sure, he sees a lot of pitches per plate appearance and has above average speed, but his strikeout rate is so bad that it completely negates any advantage that batting him in that spot produces.
We really should be batting Simmons second, even if his OBP is similar to BJ's, Simmons actually puts the ball in play while only striking out 8-9% of the time as opposed to BJ who whiffs around 30-35% of the time. Maybe, they don't want Simmons to feel pressure and continue to develop some more patience at the plate, but the fact of the matter is that he needs to move up in the order soon before BJ completely bites us in the arse.
In 2013
BJ struck out 151 times and walked 41 times
(.29 BB/K ratio)
Simmons struck out 55 times and walked 40 times
(.73 BB/K ratio)
Through 6 games this season
BJ Upton has struck out 11 times and walked 0
Simmons has struck out 0 times and walked 1
They even have similar ground ball rates on the pitches they hit BJ (45.1%) Simmons (42.4%)so it's not like Simmons would be batting in to a boat load of double plays. The more you think about this situation, the less sense it makes.

I agree that BJ needs to move down, but I'd like to see C Johnson in the 2 hole for awhile. Move BJ to 8th and everybody else up one spot. If nothing else, hit him 7th ahead of Andrelton.

i was thinking some similar thoughts with the line up.....

Heyward
Schafer
Freeman
Johnson
Jupton
Uggla
Simmons.
First, frick BJ.
Second, if Uggla continues to hit it well I'd switch him and Jupton, and might even throw him in the 4 hole.
