The 1946 Georgia Bulldogs went a perfect 11-0, won the SEC championship and beat North Carolina 20-10 in the Sugar Bowl.
FYI, we should probably claim this national title. Finished 3rd in the last AP poll in December behind Notre Dame and Army, who tied in the regular season, but neither Army or ND played a bowl game while the Dawgs beat 9th-ranked UNC. The AP didn’t put out a poll after the bowl games and the Williamson poll, which did, named Georgia national champs.
It’s every bit as legitimate a claim as the 1942 claim at the very least
