Possible candidate for our coaching vacancy according to Mark Schlabach and Rusty Mansell. But won't come if he cannot call the plays. Coley isn't the hill to die on. Totally not worth it.

The only way he comes if he's calling plays...if that's the case, what happens with Coley?

Demoted or leave. I would not care either way.

Works for me. But would Kirby do that? There's a reason he let Chaney walk and fought to keep Coley. I think it's becuase of his recruiting.

Coley is an absolute ace recruiter and I think most of us are well aware by now that it is not limited by position. He had a huge hand in bringing in tyrique Stevenson and likely any Florida kid on the roster so I’d really assume he stay on staff

He isn't worth sacrificing the offense. He is in over his head right now. He may prefer to leave than get demoted and lose playcalling duties.

Likely gets to be Co-OC and keep his pay.

That seems like the most logical and likely solution

You did see that there's a thread at the top of the page about this, right?
Clearly, the answer is no.

I agree that he possibly would not come unless given those responsibilities...but is this something YOU are saying or someone in the know is saying?

Probably the same thing that happened with Ensminger. People are making this way too complicated. I mean, if Kirby isn't willing to publicly take the OC job away from Coley he could make them co-OC and let Coley breakdown film and chart tendencies, and let Monken call plays and do more game day coaching.
Steve Ensminger was the OC for LSU last year, and he still is the OC. Brady is a passing game coordinator and WR coach. You can make them co-OCs, or just give a made up position and a lot of money.
If they want to do it, it can be worked out.

Exactly. You beat me to it with less words. You're making a habit of this.

Co-OC. Recruit and fix Munken’s coffee: cream & 2 sugars.
