Also on page #13:

“13 teams have been in a position to try and capture a third consecutive national championship “

-the last to attempt it was Alabama in the year…..(wait for it)………

ok obviously the universe is trying to tell us something, but what does it mean? 13 is clearly the key but what significance does 13 have to this year? There's gotta be a connection somewhere

I think we just have to let it percolate a while. You can’t force it. The reason, if there is one, will appear when we least expect it

So obviously a large chunk of this issue is about the history of back to back championships and how rare it is. How only 8 other teams have done it.

What they don’t mention is that Kirby Smart was a large part of one of those other teams that did it as their DC

I’m getting chills dudes and it’s like 90 degrees already

Here’s a quote from Kirbs on the chance to 3-peat that will frick you up….

“You’ve got one chance to be legendary “, Smart concluded. “I’m not going to leave any regret out there.”

Got damn. It’s on, sons

I don't think non-UGA fans fully grasp what kirby has already accomplished in his career. It's staggering.

Saban was an assistant for like 15 years before his first HC gig. I'm not gonna bother looking up all those teams accomplishemnts but at first glance I don't think it would have been much to write home about. Then he's a HC and here is what he did his first 7 seasons:

51-30-1. 1-3 bowl record. This was 1 season at toledo, 5 at MSU, and 1 at LSU. Only first place finish in this time was a 1st place tie in the MAC in year one t toledo.

With Kirby, he also has a roughly 15 year stint as an assistant but with far more accomplishemnt. Much of it was spent as saban's right hand man at LSU/NFL/Alabama. Titles galore. Then we have his first 7 years as head coach:

81-15. 8-2 bowl record. Multiple SEC titles. Multiple national titles. NO signs of slowing down.

I'm not saying he's going to pass saban, but it's hard to believe he's accomplished so much in such a short period of time.

Lindy’s is all over this:

-Sabe became an HC at 39. Kirbs at 40

-Sabes won his first and second national championships at age 52 and 58. Kirbs won his at 46 and 47

-At 48, Kirbs is going for the historic 3-peat. At 48, Sabes was going 9-2 at Michigan state as a coordinator

-Sabe went 79-15 in his first 7 years at bam. Kirbs is 81-15

-If Kirby wants to match Sabans 7 championships by the time he’s Sabans age, he has 24 years to win 5 more

-Woody Hayes won 5 in 17 years. The bear won his last 5 championships in 16 year timespan

Exciting times. Sky’s the limit , dude

$76,800,000

That’s what Jimbo Fisher will make this year instantaneously when he gets fired from Texas an. Think about that one schlubs, as you wrap things up at work this afternoon before your allotted federal day off tomorrow

We'll go 13-0 finishing as SEC Champs before the government declares another pandemic or some other fake emergency going into Election 2024 so the playoffs will never happen.
