Playing injured players too early

Did Ratledge need to play against Florida? Last Year, did Bowers need to come back from surgery early to play against Tennessee and Tech? In more important games played later both were hurt and ineffective leading to bad losses. We also played McConkey too much when he was hurt. I would prefer to lose with healthy players.
