North Alabama is getting high winds. Tornado just reported about a mile from us in north Marshall County. My weather station recorded 57 mph winds at our house. We're about 15 miles north of Guntersville and 13 miles south of Huntsville.

Most of the time these weather systems weaken as they approach the AL/GA line. Not sure why that is. Is it because of the mtns, the way we're situated above FLA and not Gulf? Very interesting if you're a weather nerd like me.

It’s because of the Coriolis effect

What gets stirred up by the cold fronts feeding off the warm moist air from the Florifornia gulf , gets dragged over dry land and weakens by time it gets to the GA promised land due to our planets particular spin and rotation around a ball of fire we call the sun

Which all happens in limitless infinite space apparently

Non-smartass answer:

We’re geographically lucky usually to be far enough away from the tornado cold front fuel pit aka Gulf of Mexico

Looks like our tornado luck ran out in Troup and Meriwether counties, hope everyone down there is ok.

Sounds like both tigers have been recaptured. Crazy!

I clicked the Link. It didn’t say anything about escaped apex predator tigers on the loose in Georgia. What’s going on here?

It's a WSB-TV link, they often edit the shite out of their stories without an edit or update log, so the original headline could have been "Tigers on the loose" then they change it to "57 structures damaged in tornado" but the link remains the same. They do it all the time.
