Ever wonder why Donnan never got another coaching job?

This ^^^^ right here. Surely there would have been offers had he been all that. Maybe there were, and he quietly turned them down before it could be made public.

For some reason I kept thinking it was diabetes. You are probably right, though. My memory is not as good as it once was. Either way, neither is anything you want to fool with. I hope he does well wherever he ends up.

It was Diabetes. I was thinking of myself after the game

He got college and NFL offers.
But UGA was going to pay him for 3 years not to coach. So he worked for espn. After 3 years of not coaching, he helped his grandsons HS football team (he is a film junkie).

This isnt secret squirrel stuff. Donnan never left Athens. I'm surprised most here are too young to know anything factual. Kirby keeps him around the program. You might say that the program views him as an asset.

Offers werent quiet. But he isnt going to go public in a refusal of a position.

He is in the college football hall of fame. It is kind of a big deal.

I saw him earlier last year at the doctors office in Athens with his wife. I would love to talk ball with him but decided to give him some privacy.
