Loomis combines the characters of Hooper and Quint. And there really is no Brody in Halloween. I agree with your other points though.

Brody gets the best of the shark at the end of Jaws. Michael Myers is shot by Loomis, but he vanishes into the night at the end of Halloween.

Slasher movies never really bothered me. Myers with his slow plodding attack would’ve been shot 30 times in my house growing up. Maybe it’s a southern thing. Still a great movie.
Jaws though? I still think about that shite when I get over my waist in the ocean.
