My Dtv and internet are included in my HOA fees so no.
I did go about a year without and it was around 2011. Relied on Netflix and Hulu. Missed the sports so I came back.

Its like a little USB stick that connects into your HDMI port. It comes with a remote, and the device works with your wifi connection. It has a ton of apps, music, media. If you get one that is hacked, you watch all the sports channels, even pay per view, HBO, Showtime, and live television. There is no subscription once you buy the hacked version. Its really easy to navigate as well.

Also if you currently have a fire stick, you can side load the hack, It's very easy if you computer literate.
You can youtube how to's. There are a ton of videos on there about it.

Worth it. You probably wont miss it after a month or two and wont see your self ever going back
personally use antenna + roku (roku to access amazonTV, netflix, and watchESPN)
Used to use slingtv just for ESPN, now have a friends log-in for watchEspn
Also used to have hulu and HBO but didnt use them much so cancelled.
Amazon would be my first choice, especially since it comes with prime shipping etc.

Thanks for the responses.
I've had Apple TV for a couple years in addition to cable. Mostly to play sports on a tv out on the back deck where there is no cable connection. The problem though, is all the apps that I use on my phone or iPad to play through appletv are free only because I have a cable subscription. And so if dump cable, I lose the apps. And have to buy them individually.
Also, I won't lie. The shite freezes up and acts weird pretty constantly.
Is Apple TV like the Roku and Amazon fire stick deal?
Also, for those using an antenna is that what I'm imagining? ....a scratchy non-HD reception that only comes in at night and if you add tin foil to it?

The signal is digital. You either get a clear picture or you don't.
