Schlabaugh

Good article by Schlabaugh here on the state of the basketball program, my only gripe is that he interviewed Howdy Doody, who is a lot of the reason we are in this mess now. But good article.

Hire Sean Miller.

Crean seems to think UGA is the only team that dealt with covid 19...

I read most of the article. Crean seemed like a good hire but he had some negative press from his tenure at Indiana. I liked his energy and enthusiasm. Initially he did well in recruiting. Stegman was packed for most of the first 2 seasons. It just seems like Crean's interpersonal relationships with players, staff, and the administration really was a failure here at UGA. The key for UGA is getting a guy that will come and stay so that probably means someone like Sean Miller who is in his 50's. Basketball can be a pretty quick turnaround; it just takes one blockbuster recruiting class.

This is what I didn't like about him from day one. He seemed too much like he was running for HOA treasurer. Too much snake oil.

Do you get paid by the Sean Miller mention?

No. But he should be Brooks's #1 target. Then Steve Forbes. Jonas better be WAAAYYY down the list. We need an experienced coach.

That, and I have a bad habit of drilling something to a nub if I think I'm right.

I don't disagree at all.

And it makes me feel great that Brooks is pretty much batting a thousand so far not just with coaching hires but just all facets of the job. Guy can do no wrong so far whihc is a great change up from mcgarity's hair dyed arse. I will give him credit he went for the home run and admittedly it was a terrific hire on paper at the time. Just didn't work out. But I have full faith that Brooks is gonna get a winner in here.

Would also take Tommy Amaker of Harvard. Guy is a winner with a lot to prove and likely an axe to grind with Duke... I like axes to grind.

I love Jonas Hayes from his playing days at UGA but I agree I think we need a more experienced coach to deal with this situation.
