Another one of our storied high ceiling players that never reach full potential due to injury. This has gotten tiresome over the years.

We've had a ton of low rated players that have far exceeded expectations. Had he stayed healthy I think he would have, too. He just had terrible luck with injuries. That can't be pinned on the coaches.

Did I pin it on the coaches? Just saying it's every single season we deal with this.

Did I say you pinned it on the coaches?
I get what you are saying. But it is the coaches jobs to ensure the players reach their full potential. I understand that you clearly said that it was due to injuries, but some people on here would try to pin that on the coaches. I have seen some blame the injuries on our practices being too physical, and to a certain extent, that can be looked at as a contributing factor. But difficult practices also get players ready for the NFL and for the hard grind of the season. I was trying to clarify that the injuries are not coaching related.

Seems like it. All teams go through it though.

I read something that said it was worse than they thought. Hopefully it was bad info.

The report I saw was saying they hoped we would see him toward the end of the season. I think it came from DawgPost.

Here is a snippet from Kirby's press conference that addresses Smith's injury. It sounded like he said it would not require surgery, but he kind of swallows his words right then and it's hard for me to tell. Maybe somebody else can tell?
