Once again, watch the freakin REPLAY...there was NOWHERE to put the ball...did you listen to CMR's presser? There are 2 options on the play, the fade and over the shoulder...the Bama defender bit on neither

Even if Murray can't get it to him, it's an incomplete pass and we can still run another play or 2

Understand, but the whole point of spiking vs non spiking was that Bama was on their heels and perhaps not prepared on the play and clearly the were. Now, if we had attempted something in the middle of the field (wide open)
I wouldn't have had a problem with the non-spike decision...even with the same results

The call was a low probability call. Evidenced by the fact it did not work

I don't think logic is your strong suit. Just because the play didn't work (and it didn't work because it was tipped by a DL btw, not because of the playcall itself) doesn't mean it was a low probability call.

Using your logic, ANY pass at all is low probability evidenced by the fact the ball was tipped. I guess the only thing we should've done was run it eh?

The point of calling the play instead of spiking it is to catch the defense winded and off guard. Whether Alabama was actually off guard is a different matter. The play call was good even if it didn't work as intended. To say otherwise is to deny the strategy while focusing only on the outcome.
