Ainge recalled a game he played against Georgia his freshman season of 2004 as an example of how he perceives the Bulldogs’ home crowd fans.

“Crucial third down, I’m a freshman, 18 years old, and I didn’t get the signal right, I knew I had the play wrong,” said Ainge, who was 12-of-21 passing for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 19-14 upset win over a No. 3-ranked UGA team that day.

“I’m going back and forth, and I’m having a conversation with (left tackle) Michael Munoz, just talking with him as the play clock is going down,” Ainge said on his radio show on Knoxville’s WNML.

“It was so quiet, that we literally could just talk to each other, and it was third down at Sanford Stadium,” He said. “It should have been so crazy that I should have been flustered and had to call timeout, (but) we got it figured out and made the first down. And that doesn’t happen in loud venues.”

Seems like he is challenging our fans. Now, the fandom has bulletin/refrigerator door material.

I giggle at these fans, 93,000 drunk fans is loud anyway you slice it.

I put the over under on false start penalties at 5.

He very well could be right. I have memories of attending games when I was younger (late 90s and even through the late 00s) where the Section 130ish seats had most people sitting down throughout the game, and generally were not that loud.

There is a big difference in the crowd in 2004 v. today, though. The crowd was rabid for the Arkansas game last year at noon...

Yeah, back in those days, outside the student section, you’d get yelled at for standing up.

Dumbass is too stupid to realize that what happened over 20 years ago has nothing to do with today.

Anyone at the ND game a couple years ago knows what loud is.

2017 against South Carolina. We had just thumped the shite out of Florida. We had a trap game at home against Mushchamps gamecocks where we had been looking ahead to our trip to Jordan-Hare. We played a struggle fest of a sloppy win. Me and my brother both drunk as hell were trying to get hyped up and make some noise and we got some dirty looks from some other Georgia fans. Last game I attended. With the price of tickets this week I hope it’s not a bunch of stuffy MFs or Tennessee fans buying them up.
Edit:
Actually I lied. The last game I attended was 2019 SECCG.

The old Dog crowd has either died off or been institutionalized.

Much louder crowd now.
