Might as well throw some wood on the fire.
I just poked my head in at the "other" board and they are in a feeding frenzy about the flip.
Speculations for Devontae Dobbs, Miller, and Pickens.
They are all hearing stuff, but I think they are just throwing names all around and hoping something sticks.

As far as interior defensive line, any rumors of remaining big surprises?
What about any of the still uncommitted 5 star/4 star types? Ishmael Shopsher from Louisiana? Or the kid Tuitele from Hawaii? What happened with Tyler Davis, stout kid from Florida?

Rumors of a flip. Not sure if those are still active, though. I heard those rumors a few weeks ago. Nothing lately, though. Seems like the rumors centered around a FSU guy, but I'm not sure if I am remembering them correctly.

The only players I have been hearing about are:
Tyrique Stevenson-CB
Lewis Cine-S/CB
Nakobe Dean-LB
One of Miller/Webb/Wright
That would leave 4 spots, and I have heard nothing but rumors past the above people.

and some Athletes seem to be popping up lately. (Can't think of their names right off hand)
And, it seems there are always some guys that pop up at the last second that we have not been hearing much about.

Always a possibility. Somebody makes something up in their heads and then tells somebody else who gets on a message board and repeats it and it takes off.
People always like to be the "person in the know".
FTR, I get my information from the newsletter and a couple of boards. I can honestly say, "I know nothing."

Just to be clear....from what I understand, we are expecting to take 24. (Always fluid, though)
We have 19 committed right now, and feel pretty good about:
Cine-S/CB
Stevenson-CB
Dean-LB
Webb/Wright/Miller (one)(OLine)
That would give us 23 and we were wanting to take 4 DB's. If we sign the ones on the above list that will give us 3 DB's (Already have Jalen Perry) with one spot left.
Of the positions that is most fluid, it would be the Oline, meaning it could be just about anybody.
Hope this clarifies for some not following closely.

Can say with 100% honesty had no idea this was going down, had Daniel pegged as a dawg for a while now. My worries on Smith fall with a quote he made public, earlier in the week and some things I've been told, along with him and Tindall being close.
Smith may very well have just said that to create drama, but it has me not as confident as I was a week ago.

Man in years past it was kind of easy to tell who we were gonna sign. This staff I have no clue what 5* rabbit they will pull out of their hat. The last 2 years CSP has snagged some late 5* OTs (Wilson / Mays). Makes me think he could get another one this year. Maybe the #1 or #2 center?

A lot of chatter around it. But most think Webb is a lock to Alabama. I think we are in it. Not saying we sign him, but I don't believe it is a lock by any measure.

Honestly, I still think SC for Smith. I really think we have moved on. I haven't heard anything about Smith in a while. Smith and Daniel will really solidify your secondary if you do manage to lock them both down.

Smith is further down our board than Daniel was. We haven't been recruiting him hard for a while. Don't think he's been in campus for several months.
Obviously anything can happen, but I think we have bigger fish out there and feel good about them, combined with fact that we are likely only taking 4 DBs

Edit: outside our those we both have comitted was this the last of our "head to heads" this year...i think so and I'm too lazy to look it up.

Mike, as explained, we really weren't recruiting Smith with any fervor. It's no slight on him or you. We will take 4 DBs this cycle, and all of those that are already on board or likely to fill the spots are higher priorities for our staff.
It's always hard to evaluate since we don't have all the info, but there is compelling evidence that even DJ Daniel was slow played, or at least asked to delay his announcement towards the end. We are running out of spots.

AS a whole, yes, but I am hearing we are working on Pickens behind the scenes. I really don't know if this is true, or not, though, or if he is showing any interest at all.
