Master Teague just released his top 3 of UTk, AU, and UGA. Kipp Adams and Barton Simmons CBed him to the good guys just a few hours ago and Trent Smallwood at Rivals who is usually spot on with predictions has him going to us. Him and Zamir would be one hell of a RB haul.

Yes, let's actually talk UGA recruiting. Teague would be a great pickup (especially for this TN resident Dawg) and all signs are pointing towards him in Athens. I do need Rusty to give me that last CB for full confidence.
Side note: I think we all need to relax. Chris Smith is an elite corner and will show it throughout the summer. We're looking good for Zamir, at minimum 1 of the 2 massive OGs, and Kearis Jackson is a must-get. My only real concern for this class is the inability to find DL/DE/OLB depth. Hopefully, we can work some magic w/ Stephon Wynn, Parsons, Henry, TK, etc.
Finally, as we all agree, this is an important season for UGA in the win column. A nice run and a trip to ATL will force all of these top '18 kids to take a long look - whether they're committed elsewhere or not. The offers are out there, now let's go win some games.

Call me crazy, but I think Brenton Cox ends up at UGA. No insider information, but his decision was two weeks old and happened very fast. If UGA gets Ezzard, Cox is back in play

I agree with you about Cox...It seems like a lot of these kids are still open to UGA they really just want to see how we do on the field...

I live in Tennessee. Coached Teague's older brother in high school from 2008-2011.

Thought I'd share via TigerNet:
Steve Wiltfongs CB following Salyers visit to GDay has me concerned. Does anyone know if Kipp or Rusty have commented on Salyer?
quote:
[Jamaree Salyer] Is down to Clemson and Stanford. UGA is out. Stanford has a shot. Jamaree has changed his schedule around to meet admissions standards for Stanford. Distance is a factor though. Clemson is 1A and Stanford is 1B

Good Lord.
Dabo is really becoming a pain in the entire SEC's arse.

I don't buy for one second that its a Clemson/Stanford battle.

I'm with you, I found it comical. I think Hill and Salyer are Dawgs when the dust settles

There isn't 1 CB for Stanford. I dont know where they come up with this. Clemson is in it for sure, but we are too

Dell McGee needs another raise if this happens. He's been lights out at recruiting RBs.

Dameon Pierce just de-committed from Alabama.
He plays for Kirby's alma mater.

I don't think we'll go after him hard unless we miss on Teague or Zamir.
Also that means Bama is down to 2 commits, maybe some of our fans will stop freaking out so much.

Our fans are kind of in shock.

It's weird.
There's a quiet confidence from the old guard who think everything will work itself out, but the younger crowd is restless.
Personally I think both Alabama and Georgia will be fine. There's nothing wrong with doing due diligence and being selective.

Pearce is an intriguing player. Big, powerful RB with good hands. Doesn't seem to have great acceleration, but once he gets going is tough to bring down. He has a good stiff arm and uses it well. I like him as a RB who can get 3-4 yards every time he touches the ball.

And when you are signing a smallish class you need t be more careful and selective. Thanks for the information on Pearce!

5 star DB Tyreke Johnson was just CB'd to us by Andrew Ivins (Miami insider). It's only one CB but great to see some positive news on this front. Felt like we had a lot of momentum w/ him a few months ago
Posted on 5/19/17 at 3:09 pm to donjuanjones
Tyreke is on his way to Athens for a visit. At one point he was a UGA lean, then UCLA, and most recently Florida. It's a long way to go but a CB from a Miami insider is worth paying attention to.
