I think we finish with seven 5 stars. Some services reevaluate prospects after the all star games. It possible Cook or Hill could get that 5th star. I believe that happened with Chubb. I have alsi seen it go the other way if s kid has a bad week of practice against other elite competition

Gotta keep in mind we have multiple guys that are sitting right up against 5* status as well... (Cook and Hill) - Very possible that either of those guys could make the jump during All-Star bowl season (or in Cook's case, simply expanding beyond the current 27 5 star players... (the number is usually closer to 32 to mirror NFL draft first round)... so there is a chance that even without a crazy pull of one of those guys we might get there anyways... but agreed it's still not even close to a done deal.

ETA: Haha.. didn't read all the way through 77

The suprise recruit hasn't only been mentioned by Sentell. It has been mentioned by BulldawgBob and others. It's being mentioned as sensitive at this time for reasons.

I believe after this class is finished, and final evaluations come around......that UGA will end up with as many as NINE 5*s.

Yeah I used the composite rankings liek most people, if you go simply by Rivals we have:

Fields, Zamir, Salyer, Anderson, Mays, Cook as 5* with Cox not too far behind.

wonder what this means... personal related or sensitive to the timing of where/how other recruits commit?

I have no clue why it's sensitive. Guys like Americus and BB could give a million reasons for something to be kept quiet, like this.

Just curious, how did you come up with that number?

I have Salyer, Fields, Cox, Anderson, White, Mays as current 5-Stars projected to UGA. James Cook is on the cusp of a 5, a lot depends on the all-star game. Trey Hill isn’t getting bumped.

Think about that for a minute. If a team lands Seven 5* players, then almost 1/3 of their lineup could be 5*, and that is from one year.
Add, say 4 more 5* in the three years following, you have a chance at having 19 out of your 22 starters being 5* players.

Obviously, some of those would leave after their Junior Year. They develop at different rates. Some don't make it at all, so chances of any team having that many on the field at once is slim and none, but it's a mind boggler to think about!

Going off a hint Trent at Rivals gave, it's one of: Parsons, Rick Sandidge, Tyson Campbell, Quay Walker, Isaac Taylor-Stuart, Mario Goodrich, or Leon O'Neal. I think the first 4 names of that list are the most likely.

He knows my last name. It's the name of the dirt road

6,7,8,9 5*'s?

6- yes
7- hopeful
8- possible
9- would be possible if we actually had elite DT's in this class.

As said Hill isn't getting bumped.

Better way to me is 20 out of top 200, but I'm weird.

Still not a huge believer in the surprise narrative, but after reading the comments on it from various sources, I think the player being discussed is Quay Walker. Only one that makes sense to me based on visit timelines. Also the only one where I could see discretion being valuable so as to prevent Bama from coming in harder on Adam Anderson

AD Is that a hint about a possible DT flipping to the good guys?

I look at avg recruit rating as more valuable than total 5*... the difference between the 28th guy and the 50th guy in rating just isn't that much... as you said... top 200 is a good reference point and hits at about a 92+... our average rating with most of the expected names will be somewhere in the high 92, low 93 range right now... that's really damn strong.

Also after Tannor decommitting and Azeez tearing his ACL that OLB spot is a little thin in this class, might make sense to push for him.

Not weird at all. I love 5*, but give me quality across the board rather than several 5* and several 3*. Give me all 4* and I'm happy.

That said, I am not turning any 5* away!
