Good news! I feel like he'll be a major player for us in a year or two if we get him.

No but any recruit right now can see that if you want to win then you should pick UGA

From what I've read here and other places, Trey Hill won't be a first year player for us.
Hard to say, really. We will need a center next year, and I'm not sure who we have lined up there for next year. but, I do agree that probably not a starter. However, he could probably compete and get some playing time.

Seemed that way, until as soon as he got back from his last visit there. Trended right back.
I noticed this, too. Kind of caught me off guard how he started trending our way. I wonder if something happened.

Not a chance.
You are saying he could not see the field at all his first year? That's surprising. I had been hearing that we were trying to sell him playing time if he moved to center early, then back to guard later.

From everything I've read, and Americus confirmed it just now, he'll be a likely redshirt as a freshman. Absolutely no way he starts at center for UGA as a true freshman.

Gaillard, our current C, is a RS Jr. so we will have a Center for next year. Warren Ericson is our Center of the future from everything I've heard and read.

Gaillard gets beat every now and then, but he has been solid for a first time starter at C who started his career at DT. I don't see a TF coming in and starting right away over Gaillard next year, not unless he is hands down better then Gaillard.

Nobody said anything about starting. We are talking about playing time. However, if he is red shirted, then he would not get playing time. But it is a guess that he would get a red shirt.

Ah! Ok. I don't even know who our 2nd string Center is this year. Do you?

Gotcha! I knew my information was a little dated, but I didn't know we had dropped the center pitch.

He could go in and earn a spot, but I'd bet a RS is certain.... and he needs it.

Kindley has a guard spot locked down, Baker and Salyer will probably battle for the other guard spot and behind those guys you still have Shaffer, Netori and Pat Allen who can play just about anywhere on the line. He is an EE so if he is really serious about S&C and nutrition he might be able to crack the 2-deep, but he has some work to do.

I believe the majority of the back-up reps have been going to Sean Fogarty.
From his UGA Bio:
"2017: Has played in six of eight games this season, seeing time as a backup center"

Up to 75% of the CBs for Luke Ford...

I am not really familiar with him. maybe this is what the coaches were selling Hill on as far as getting some playing time? However, they have said above that the pitch to play center has been dropped. Surely there is another player they are grooming for center once Gaillard leaves, though.

Warren Ericson
Nothing is guaranteed but I personally love his film. He's strong, smart, and has a little nasty streak to him. Ericson is emerging as one of the best OL in the state and looks to be the guy. If Hill wants to come in and play Center, then they could have a great battle for it but by all accounts Hill wants nada to do with the Center position so Ericson looks like the future.
Also, if it really matters to anyone, he's been offered by some really high quality Power 5 programs to include (Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, FSU, Miami, Michigan, ND, USC, Scar, VT, etc)

I didn't realize Ericson is a recruit that isn't signed yet.
It's a lot to ask a true freshman to come in and start at center. However, a nasty streak is what is needed on the Oline.
