And against good competition. Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, Nebraska, Clemson etc...

He had one good game against South Carolina and that was last season. The three other games were fricking terrible. He had a good game against almost everyone last season. I haven't taken anything away from Murray - he was great his senior season. He also had a good - not great - game against Alabama and a great three quarters against Nebraska.

No one will remember this. And honestly, who gives a shite about bowls.

So you're conveniently leaving out games he performed poorly in because they don't matter to you. Got it.

You sound like you don't want him to be successful.

Why because I'm realistic? I wish him well, he was a damn good dog. Doesn't change the fact that he struggled to read defenses, made poor decisions at the worst times and struggled to beat a defense with a pulse for his first three years.

With a defense as stingy as the one Greene had his four years, Murray would have two SEC championships and at least one National Championship. Doesn't mean he doesn't have any flaws. Besides that wasn't even my point - my point was people coming in here talking shite about Mason for the same thing Murray did for three years but Murray's the GOAT. Doesn't make any sense.

I was at the 2003 game at LSU. Greene took an absolute beating. I mean brutal. Four sacks and an ungodly amount of hurries. Getting his arse kicked and amidst the hostile environment that is an LSU home game, lead us to a game tying touchdown in the waning minutes. The defense then let him down.

I was also at the 2012 Sackerlina game in Columbia. I'll save you the gory details but I'm sure you remember what happened.

Give me Greene all day every day over Murray.

Absolutely. One time I heard the Pollacks and Greenes talking and they said the first time their boys heard Richt drop an F bomb was at the OL in 2003. That OL was putrid. Ours is bad now but Greene got pummeled and wasn't as athletic as Murray and couldn't avoid a lot of hits. He also didn't have a RB stable outside of 2 years of Musa and his WRs were hardly what they are now. Gibson and Brown had flashes and he had 2 years of Edwards and then that blockhead Pope were all he really had in terms of weapons. He made Michael Johnson look like a boss for God's sake so...

Without. A. Doubt.

When Greene was on offense I didn't have any worries other than boy I hope we can get this offense in the end zone (more likely a Billy Bennett FG or Andy Bailey miss). With Murray my worries weren't just about scoring but whether or not we'd have a catastrophic turnover. For the first 3 years I was convinced he was either color blind or forgot what color our jerseys were.

All good points that I agree with.

No. That's just in general. I'm so turned off by the bowl system that I don't put much stock in them. And the only bowl he performed poorly in was when he against UCF. That was baaddddd.

Not accurate.

quote:

made poor decisions at the worst times

Every qb does this from time to time. His decision making improved every single year. He wasn't perfect early in his career, shocking.

quote:

struggled to beat a defense with a pulse for his first three years

And I'll counter with the offense scored enough to win in a bunch of those games but the defense couldn't stop anyone. Those games aren't all on him.

Which is why I'd put him over Greene. I love Greene, great quarterback. Not a better QB than Murray, IMO.

He's got a ton of flaws. Everyone does.

Can't help ya there. Not really making that argument.
