Do y'all think Hyman would hire him with that still in place? Hyman was at USC when all of the violations happened, so he surely won't have forgotten.

Hyman showed at USCe that he isn't afraid to go get a good coach. For all the shite he's gotten from Ags, his last coaching hire was ripping Frank Martin away from KSU to come to a non-basketball school.

It won't be announced for a while, but there is a really good chance we become the highest grossing revenue school this year while still being outside the top 20 in expenses. If we get serious, I'm not sure there are too many coaches that are off the table.

I wouldn't. I thought it was a bad hire from the word go. Turgeon is a good coach but he didn't like being at a place where basketball was not immensely loved. He never seemed to understand that we haven't arrived and he needed to continue fostering our fanbase off the BCG days.

IMO he fricked up all the momentum we had by being a whiny little bitch all the time even as he won. We need to hire someone that gets all the situation. We can build it. The pieces are now in place. But it doesn't just happen when you step on campus. Bruce Pearl did that for UT.

Turgeon was a terrible recruiter for us. He was good at squeezing the most out of the roster we had on game days but left us in a terrible position roster-wise when he left.

We need a coach that can get the top talent out of Houston and Dallas on a regular basis. We should be in lockdown mode on Houston for sure.

Pearl and Howland are damaged goods. We can find better options than them.

maybe I haven't kept up but how exactly is Howland damaged goods? Because UCLA fired him?

In ten years at UCLA, he won 4 PAC titles, went to 3 Final Fours, 1 Championship game, and made the tourney in 7 of 10 years. At UCLA, you get fired for not winning it all or at least doing it with enough flair. At A&M, we'd build statues.

And let's not forget UCLA was a dumpster fire when howland took over. We were coming off our first losing season in 60 years and he took us to the final 4 in 3 seasons

Take a good look at the APR ratings for A&M and Maryland under Turgeon.

If we're on a postseason ban next year, it'll be because of Turgeon.

Howland's locker room at UCLA was reportedly a dumpster fire at the end of his run. He had lost control of his team.

I don't have any problem hiring a coach just because he has been fired elsewhere. I would want to have a really good understanding of what Howland learned from the factors that led to his firing and how that knowledge would make him a better coach.

Bump for 870Hog. The title of this thread says it all.

With the direction our program is headed, I wouldn't worry too much about our APR...
