With Manziel locking down the starting spot, Matt Davis redshirting, Kenny Hill and possibly Kohl Stewart coming in next year, plus Showers and Joeckel already here we have quite the logjam at QB. Which one's do y'all think leave? I wouldn't be surprised to see Showers and possibly Joeckel gone after this year, and I can't blame them.

I also think if Manziel continues to impress that could push Stewart more towards the MLB draft. What do y'all think the QB situation looks like next season? I think a position that has a ton of depth right now could go to a scary situation if it's Manziel, Davis and Hill, considering Manziel's play style.

Kohl Stewart will redshirt behind Matt Davis and play baseball. Joeckel will stay with his brother. I'm not sure about Showers, because he has a pretty big league arm. I think it just depends on how the season goes. As much as Johnny gets outside the pocket, if he gets injured we're going to need Showers. I think Matt Davis will be the starter after Johnny is done, Kohl Stewart after Davis. I think Hill will be a backup.

This is kinda an offseason topic. That said, I don't think Kohl bases his college/MLB decision at all on our depth chart. That'll solely be decided on by money.

Matt Davis will stay.

I think the most likely to go is Showers. But that's deductive reasoning done in a vacuum with no knowledge of where the kid's heart and head is at. For all we know he's dating an Aggie gal that's the love of his life and he's fine staying in CS and trying to bust his arse and obtain QB1

This scenario kinda reminds me of the Dustin Long/Reggie McNeal/Jason Carter/Stephen McGee days.

Too much talent at one position can be bittersweet. You inevitably end up losing someone.

If someone had to leave I'd prefer Showers. He is a year ahead of Johnny and will likely never start. Davis, if RS'd, will come into the starting job as a junior if the QB curse continues. That's not bad for a QB, and will give us better continuity as a team.

If I was a betting man, I would bet that Stewart goes to the draft. Just too much $$$ to turn down. If it doesn't workout, he could always do like Weeden and try QBing later
