Because Bama is getting absolutely dominated by Georgia and more than likely played themselves out of the playoffs.

To be fair we’re probably better than Alabama and wouldn’t be getting dominated.

There’s no reason to take the risk. The committee likes to claim that championship games don’t matter in the rankings but it absolutely does. Especially if you get dominated like Bama and BYU did today.

Yes. The committee doesn’t want to deal with the fallout of punishing a team for losing an extra game.
