Men’s Runner of the Week: Deon Lendore, Texas A&M
• Ran his first 400m of the indoor season at the Texas A&M Triangular and won with a world-leading time of 45.74 to break the meet record of 45.91 he set a year ago.
• It also improved upon the indoor collegiate dual meet record Lendore set in the event last season.
• The 45.74 is the No. 5 performance on the Aggie all-time list, where Lendore has four of the top five marks, including his school record of 45.15.
• It’s also the fastest time by an Aggie in the month of January, topping the 45.81 recorded by Tabarie Henry on Jan. 30, 2010.
• Anchored the Aggie 4x400m relay to a convincing victory over LSU (3:08.84) as this 45.22 split closed out a world-leading time of 3:05.43 that broke the meat record of 3:05.92 set by A&M in 2010. The winning time by the Aggies is No. 5 on the school’s all-time list.
