I'm an Astros fan, so I've been numb for months now
That said, I do love me some baseball, and Wacha is a beast. If he couldnt get drafted by Houston, I'm glad he's in St Louis - they run their shite better than any organization in the league. He's in good hands

Well he pitched one hell of a game today. No runs. Got us to the 7th I believe and the bullpen didn't hold it. Lost 1-0. I know that is at least 2 if not 3 games that the kid absolutely earned a W and didn't get it.
The Cards have been fairly careful with him. Had moved him to the bullpen for a bit, I think to save his arm/innings since he's pitching more than he's used to. Personally, I think they are hoping he'll be one of the starters pitching down the stretch and into post season if we make it. Really think they were saving his arm so he'd be strong late.
Fantastic outing tonight though.

Huge football game coming up this week but a quick update on Wacha. Pitched 7 scoreless innings, giving up only 2 hits. I really think they've set him up to be in the starting rotation down the stretch when it counts. Not sure about when the rotation gets shortened in the playoffs but I wouldn't be surprised.

It would be awesome to see him starting games in October this year for the Cards

If he could get a little more run support he could be a solid starter.
Seems like every time he has a good start its a one or two run game and his reliever finds a way to screw it up.

Without even going back and looking, I can think of 2 starts that he deserved the win. He got some support today and Cards won.

Had a no hitter through 8 2/3 tonight. Dude is a beast.

Beat me to it Whisker!!!
Absolutely what we needed too. Un-fricking-believable. The kid is a stud. I was just debating our starting rotation in the playoffs with my brother. Had Wainwright, Miller and Kelly inked in with the 4th spot in the air between Wacha or Lynn. Tonight might have gone a long way towards Wacha getting that 4th spot.
Oh and by the way. The hit???? A fricking infield single.

What's really awesome is he's only getting better.

Should have heard him after the game too. Kid has a solid head on his shoulders to go with that arm.

I was a student at A&M from 1991 to 1995 and missed almost no home games. Hell, I made a trip to the last day of the 1995 Miami baseball regional on my honeymoon (day off from Disney World).
I lived in Ohio for the 1996 season.
:(
I had season tickets at Olsen from 1997 to 2013. I moved to Missouri on August 3, just in time for Wacha's final promotion to the big club!
Now I need to figure out his next start.
Oh, and I uploaded his one hitter (top of the innings only plus post-game interview) to here. You'll need the free DivX codec to view it.

My grandfather and me had season tickets for like 10 years(93-03) sitting on the row right under Dave South's little booth.
I think the best game I ever went to was the 3rd game of the Super Regional vs Clemson when we came back in the 9th to win.

Ahhh ...
Clemson game 3. The only time I've ever snuck champagne (and ice) into Olsen. I've got it (and a ton of other baseball games) uploaded to here if you ever want to watch it.
