Yep, if you’re up by 21 you can try those WTF play calls trying to hit that huge play catching your opponent off guard

If you’re playing from behind or only up one or two scores you’re unnecessarily risking, giving up an offensive series and having to punt when you should just focus on getting a first down and keeping the drive alive


Third and long is different though, Gus Malzahn was a genius at third and long, throw it super deep send two or three of your fastest guys to the same place, force the defense to commit pass interference to stop the huge gain,
I think Gus had a higher success rate at this than any other team did going for a normal 10 to 15 yard game to convert a third down
