Both teams started 2 true freshmen on the OL by the end of the season. (2010 had Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews, 2021 has Bryce Foster and Reuben Fatheree) Both teams changed QBs due to injury (Calzada by necessity, Tannehill by choice). Both teams had 2 1,000 yard running backs (Gray and Michael in 2010, Spiller and Achane in 2021). Both teams had top 10 picks on the defense.

After 1 game

2010: 1-0
2021: 1-0

After 2 games

2010: 2-0
2021: 2-0 (Barely beat a BAD team on the road after losing starting QB for season)

After 3 games

2010: 3-0 (needed to overcome a 20-6 4th quarter deficit to beat a bad team at home, starting QB threw 4 interceptions)
2021: 3-0

After 4 games

2010: 3-1 (blew 14-point 1st half lead on the road)
2021: 3-1 (lost to Arkansas 20-10)

After 5 games

2010: 3-2 (lost to Arkansas 24-17)
2021: 3-2 (bad home loss to Mississippi State)

After 6 games

2010: 3-3 (blowout loss to Missouri at home 30-9)
2021: 4-2 (amazing win over #1 Alabama)

After 7 games

2010: 4-3 (blowout road win against bad team, switched QBs)
2021: 5-2 (blowout road win against bad team)

After 8 games

2010: 5-3 (blowout home win setting passing record)
2021: 6-2 (blowout home win setting defensive record)

After 9 games

2010: 6-3 (2 score win over #8 Oklahoma. First win over OU in 8 years)
2021: 7-2 (3 score win over #13 Auburn. First home win over Auburn, did not allow a touchdown or score an offensive TD)

After 10 games

2010: 7-3 (12 point win over Baylor on the road after trailing at halftime)
2021: 7-3 (bad loss to Ole Miss on the road after trailing 15-0 at halftime)

After 11 games

2010: 8-3 (9-6 win over top ten Nebraska)
2021: 8-3 (I'm already counting on a win over Prairie View)

After 12 games

2010: 9-3 (beat a hated rival on the road, ending their season at 5-7)
2021: 9-3 (beat a hated rival on the road, ending their season at 5-7)??

Bowl game

2010: Cotton Bowl against a far more talented LSU team
2021: Outback or Citrus Bowl against a middling Big Ten team?

Going into 2011: Lose top running back, best defensive player, top linebacker, top defensive back to graduation, return 4/5 OL, all WR, starting QB

Going into 2021: Lose top running back, best OL, top tight end, top WR, best defensive player, most of defensive front, top linebacker and starting FS, return 3/5 OL, most WR, will have a new starting QB

Let's do that comparison.

Non-conference:

Arkansas 2010 > Colorado 2021
Prairie View 2021 > Stephen F. Austin 2010
Kent State 2021 > Louisiana Tech 2010
Florida International 2010 = New Mexico 2021

Conference

Oklahoma State 2010 > Arkansas 2021
Missouri 2010 > Mississippi State 2021
Alabama 2021 > Oklahoma 2010
Missouri 2021 > Kansas 2010
Texas Tech 2010 > South Carolina 2021
Ole Miss 2021 > Baylor 2010
Nebraska 2010 = Auburn 2021
t.u. 2010 = LSU 2021
