Left Vines in wayyyyy too long. It was clear from the jump his stuff wasn't there today.

I would strongly disagree with that thought. Our bullpen has been struggling with Vinson and Martin being catastrophic, and Hendrix and Ecker being rough their last few outings.
And we have 2 more games in the next 24 hours with two starters who I don't think have gone more than 6 innings or so.
Despite his struggles, we needed to give Vines a chance to work thru it. He didn't and that sucks but I don't think it was the wrong decision.
