That would basically cover the high school DT you felt the class was lacking right?
Edit: Ole Miss fans seem confident we will get Pennamon.

Are you speaking of Chris Daniels?
I know you were talking to Shane, but I'll butt-in and say heck yes. Count me as someone sorely disappointed that we don't have a HS DT committed. Getting a 4* at that position, and one that most people felt was a pretty decently strong Horn-lean as well, would be a major coup that would make me very happy.

Whoa... I thought the guy was Ole Miss for sure.

Getting Daniels would be great. If we can pull him and jones in this defensive class looks really good.

I knew OU was a serious contender, but he always wanted to commit to A&M, but our coaches went all in on Blacklock and pushed him to the side. He was said multiple times that A&M was always where he was going to go.

Absolutely. I didn't think we had much of a chance with him when I posted that

Me too. So much so that I don't know anything about him, like what kind of back he is or how we can use him.

Assuming Davis is already in the bag which I think is pretty safe, if we can finish with
Daniels
Pennamon
Hansford
and hopefully Brandon Jones
I would be pretty satisfied with this class. Adding someone like Jack Jones or the OL from DC would be even better

We'll see. He's tripping to the school he's committed to. We all know that a trip to ole miss is like the movie The Hangover.

Yeah that makes me feel basically no certainty in getting him then. They'll bring in the bagman and bring out the girls and he'll go Ole Miss.

Ole miss RB was saying this morning Penn isn't visiting? Did something change?
They seem to think he was an every down back and it's between us and Bama

Nice. No nothing's changed that I know of. Your update is the latest I have heard. Great news.
He's 5'11" 220 and teams have been considering him an every-down guy.

Coaches didn't ignore Daniels for Blacklock. I hope you aren't being disingenuous and just try to make the staff look bad.
The coaches were going "all in" on Ed Oliver and Tyrie Cleveland. Those 2 were showing serious interest and A&M was close to flipping them. They attended the ASU game and then Oliver took an unofficial during the Ball State game. Oliver also came again with Cleveland to the MSU game. The staff did everything they could short of hiring their coach and giving Oliver's brother a starting job on the OL.

They clearly backed off. He even said he hadn't heard from them in a long time.

We can laugh all we want, but having a kid announce on ESPN before signing day is an effective strategy. It worked for them last year and it could work for them again. It is about building momentum and getting those kids oath at are on the "fence" to join in...

Pennamon, Boyd and Williams are all really good backs.
Based on their highlight videos, I'd say Pennamon is the strongest between the tackles runner and pass blocker. Powerful enough to shed arm tackles and keep driving forward. He's more North/South minded of the three.
Williams is the true breakaway threat. He can make quick lateral cuts and change direction when moving forward.
