what is our plan for him? do you know?
I don't. It was my first question. Near as I can tell we're just telling him athlete. But he's definitely warming to us
On Malik, meh, whoever did that must have heard something random and ran with it but from what I know they won't be any kind of factor in his recruitment. We're in better shape there than people realize

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Rice landed a verbal commitment from Kinkaid School quarterback J.T. Granato after mailing a hand-written note to his cat.
According to J.T.'s father John, of Yahoo Sports Radio and 1560AM, the Owls sent a letter to the Granato family addressed to 'Kitty Granato.'
Inside the letter was a note to J.T.'s cat, White Sox, that said "please help us to get J.T. to choose Rice.
"Paw me in case you have any questions."
According J.T.'s dad that note "sealed the deal."

that's awesome! Sometimes recruiting is just silly but good for Bailiff for being creative and tapping into something that struck a chord. And I think Granato will be very good for them. I was sort of hoping he'd be our 2nd QB in this class but the cat would never allow it now.

its funny how different texas football is to California. in California, the SPC are the powers
Posted on 5/16/14 at 2:27 pm to WestCoastAg
There are a few really solid large catholic schools in TX, like where Kohl Stewart went or Dallas Jesuit where Mastro and Gustafson went, but yeah they aren't the powers. SPC is like country day schools with 100 kids in each grade.
All the "St. Etc" in those school names in SPC is pretty much for show and historical. They aren't religious schools

How rampant or controlled is recruiting with the private schools in CA? SPC schools definitely recruit but they kind of cherry pick a couple good athletes it seems. Strake Jesuit and Dallas Jesuit play with public schools so I think they are pretty strict on them. I would think the recruiting scene for schools like Mater Dei and the like is nuts though

yea its out of control. that's why they are the powers and not the other way around
my school played in like one of the top leagues in California. we were probably the worst team in the league but still had a bunch of different kids coming in from out of state just to play football.
a kid who transferred from like Vermont my senior year in high school is now a WR at UTEP. shite like that

among others. I don't think we're in a massive hurry on it though.

Perroni just wrote that Bobby Petrino from Louisville just offered half of Dallas south Oak Cliffs football team....how's that for weird?

we probably wont offer one until later in the process right? lets say the unthinkable happens, do you think we can get back into it with stidham?
