he may be a bit of a tweener really. A lot like Everett and Vic Davis. But I believe Joseph was recruiting him as a safety to Nebraska so that may give you a better idea of the type of guy he's looking for (which may mean Everett and Davis move to FS).
The good part right now is that our secondary class last year was pretty talented and large. We'll have all spring to work them into the rotation and really see where things stand. Obviously losing any more in this class would be painful, but I really only expected Harvey and DSG to see any meaningful time next year. But I absolutely agree S is the most concerning position on the roster (or at least a push with SLB)

What does this mean with regards to Parker?

I actually wouldn't mind seeing this defensive 2-deep:
Rush: Hall/Garrett
3-tech: Manning/Williams
Nose: Golden/Walker
Strongside End: Arnold/Stansbury
Will: Claiborne/Washington
Mike: Mastrogiovanni/Chevis
Sam: Hilliard/Wade
CB: Harvey/Garner
CB: Ellis/Harris
FS: Everett/Davis
SS: Miles/Matthews

I don't think much. But man it's hard to weed through where things stand. A lot of our DB situation is based upon how Yates saw things. Joseph may not agree. He's got a pretty different philosophy. For instance, Yates told Harvey and Watts that he wanted them as corners. Neither plays corner in HS (well, not exclusively) and could project at several positions.
Honestly, I think the first thing Joseph/Snyder/Sumlin should do is to figure out where they want everyone and what the real holes are. Then work the relationships Joseph has that Pelini has okay'd. One good thing is that Joseph was recruiting Parker for UNL so the two are at least familiar with each other.

I take it Joseph prefers smaller more athletic safeties from what I've read, instead of the old school Roy Williams-type safeties? With the spread and the way the game is going I like the idea of 2 quicker smaller safeties much more.

yeah, Parker fits that mold btw so not a big deal. But I do wonder what it means for kids like Wiggins. We recruited a couple of tweeners last year and it's a problem with changing course. It's why a guy like Raven is such a fish out of water. I wonder if Joseph can get anything out of him back at corner.

Linebacker. Shaan Washington was a safety in high school and is only an inch taller.

Miles was the one I was thinking of considering recent news. I really don't want to frick up that WM connection

I wouldn't worry about a place for Kam. He is bigger but big isn't a bad attribute. I mean, everyone would love Haha Clinton-Dix no matter what scheme you employ

Saw something over on the LSU Recruiting page that Nacho is still considering LSU. Anyone hear anything like this?

Has there ever been a player that commits during an all-star game and then flips later?

Tony Stevens did it for us last year
And yea I saw that. Its ridiculous. only way he decommits is if cannon and hall flip. And we take that trade 100 times out of 100

Que?
Everything I'm hearing is that Hall is being recruited at safety. In fact, I've also heard that Pope is being moved to safety to accomodate additional receivers as well.
If that's the case, and Cannon flips, we would have the following at wide receiver:
Seniors: Kennedy
Juniors: Reynolds, Holmes
Sophomores: Williams, Gonzalez, Tabuyo
Freshmen: Seals-Jones, Parker, Larue, Noil, Iheanacho, Jeffrey, Cannon
That's 13 receivers in an offense that often goes 4-5 deep.

I think it's mostly sour grapes still over the Speedy deal. It may just be James Smith or maybe really their staff is negatively recruiting against perceived WR depth. But I don't know that this angle works well on many kids because it essentially boils down to selling him that he isn't good enough to play at A&M. Not saying it won't happen, just that it's a weak angle for most players imo
