I was just looking over TAMU's commits, and, yeah, those look like two necessary pick-ups. Outside of Eluemunor, your OL commits look a little on the light side, which has to be worrisome.

Yeah I've heard the same. He's announcing Thursday so I guess we'll know for sure quite soon.

Koda smith and tank are liked a lot by the staff. Whether or not we pick up Braden smith and nick gates will be the deciding factor

Outside of Eluemunor, they're all redshirting.

Here are the weights of our current O-linemen vs. what they weighed as recruits. (those who didn't redshirt are bolded)

2010:

Jake Matthews: from 275 to 305
Cedric Ogbuehi: from 270 to 300
Jarvis Harrison: from 315 to 325
Garrett Gramling: from 325 to 315
Shep Klinke: from 290 to 305

2011:

Joe Cheek: from 271 to 300
Ben Compton: from 295 to 315

2012:

Germain Ifedi: from 304 to 311
Mike Matthews: from 260 to 285
Kimo Tipoti: from 330 to 320

2013:

Joas Aguilar: from 295 to 280
Jeremiah Stuckey: from 290 to 300
Ishmael Wilson: from 275 to 300

2014:

Kealvin Davis is 258
Jermaine Eluemenor is 300
Zach Ledwik is 270
Koda Martin is 245

Yeah, obviously I don't know your roster as well as y'all do. Do y'all see an immediate impact for Eluemenor next year? I do notice you don't have any of last year's recruits as redshirts, so that implies, to me, that the OL is going to be a position of need this coming season (especially with a less mobile QB than Manziel driving opposing lines crazy.)

Those who DID NOT redshirt are in bold.

Okay, so reading comprehension isn't my strong suit. I'm prolix, not literate.

Anyway, I suppose this is the point where I say the exact opposite of what I said before. At least you can afford to get the new recruits time to make weight (and strength.)

I went to Vandy. It's been a few years since I took English classes there. Are you telling me you remember everything you learned in school?

What's worse is that part of my job description involves vetting and editing written material. Sigh.

Anyway, I don't want to hijack this thread, so...what's up with TAMU recruiting nowadays, y'all? Do you see LSU as a serious threat for the top WR recruits on your board? Their QB situation will be just as iffy as TAMU's, given that Mett is gone after this season.

Just bustin your balls

I see LSU as a serious threat to anyone we are after. They have always recruited in Texas well when they wanted to. I don't follow recruiting very closely anymore to many ups and downs but I worry about LSU more than the sips or the landthieves tbh

losing out on frazier sucked. we just offered a LB, jimmie swain whose a TCU commit right now, cause hoza scotts situation keeps getting worse and worse. we also just reached out to a JUCO WR for the most part things will probably cool down until the end of the season

they are not taking iheanacho. sadly we arent getting speedy

it helps going forward that we have the #1 QB in the entire country coming in. unless kyle allen has an amazing spring and summer, its looking like kenny hill is going to be our starter next year

What is the latest with hoza Scott? Last I heard he was passing his classes and just had to make the minimum on his act or sat. I have no idea if this is accurate, but I can't put into words,if for the second year in a row, we lose out on a top commit because they don't know how to take care of schoolwork. Out of everyone last season that we had commit, I was most excited about griffin. Purely based on his basketball skills.

He was probably our most talented commit at a huge need position. Sucks A LOT
