I understand many want this to be a huge deal with a team vote and all of that, but it simply never happened.
If you want to see Butch saving face take a look at him blaming FIFA for the Kongbo tweet. Anyone who buys that is beyond dumb.
There is a lot of shite that goes on that never comes out, but there really isn't much to this.

No no, he gets up off the bench and walks right over to Hurd.

That's not what I'm seeing, but I'll agree because at this point, it doesn't matter

I noticed after Hurd's touchdown Saturday that he did not get any high fives and almost no acknowledgement at all from his teammates when he walked back to the bench. Almost like he was iced out or something.
Two totally different narratives about the team meeting.
Okay, a series of events as crazy as the national election.
I still have the USC game on the DVR. Gotta give it a look.

You can even get into slander/defamation if you are not careful.

Hurd's inner circle would be who I would blame.
The facebook post his mom put out made it clear that this was not her decision and that she didn't it agree with it but that she supported her son. She thanked fans and the university.
But yeah, someone is obviously in his ear.

Brice, Rucker and Ryan are saying that Hurd may have been run off without much choice. They don't think he'll transfer because of the waiting period. The team may well have reached the breaking point with his behavior. I've heard versions of that from a lot of different people.
I'm curious about something tho. A 247 article had two scouts talked about it and one of them said Hurd wasn't tough but that there were a ton of guys like him at that level and that he'd find work depending on his tests but the other one caught my eye the most. He said it was a bad decision but that it didn't matter much because Hurd has always had off-field problems/question marks and also that while he has more hype because of his size that he was behind every other RB in the draft this year because it was so deep. Said he'd have benefited by staying another year in college which I'd actually thought myself due to how deep the draft is this year (hopefully Kamara will do that but I'm not holding my breath).
Anyway what are some of these off-field question marks? I know he isn't exactly well-loved in his home town and that he had issues in HS. Some said he got kicked out of MBA and transferred to avoid that and then there was the whole playing 1 game thing. But is there more to his off-field stuff? He's not well-liked but is there more to that?

I believe his dad in CA has played a large role in this from what I understand.

That's what I was thinking too, especially since he went out and did the whole speed training thing there instead of training with the team which apparently pissed some staff off.

Derek Barnett:
"We had a team meeting and we settled everything." Barnett
"We had a good work day yesterday and we're excited to play this week." Derek Barnett on Hurd. "He's just one player."
#Vols DE Derek Barnett said he wishes Jalen Hurd the best but he's just one player "so it's not going to ruin the team."

Wow.
Tom Luginbill's reaction to Jalen Hurd's transfer: "I think the team's locker room will be better off for it, despite depth being worse."

Practice Observations:
"The team seemed pretty loose today from the few periods we were able to watch. It was very interesting, a lot of smiles out there today. Again, just a different feel around the practice today.
Evan Berry and Malik Foreman were both in green jerseys today. Berry had a visor on his helmet. Micah Abernathy practiced and wasn't in a green jersey.
On the offensive line we saw Coleman Thomas work some at first team center while Dylan Wiesman moved over to right guard.
Alexis Johnson was back out on the practice field, too. It continues to look like Kyle Phillips is in line for his first start on the defensive line at defensive tackle."

They're happy he's gone.

Interdasting. We'll see if it translates into on field performance

Like I said on a different thread. Let's see how it goes Saturday.

I hope so. This team has had an attitude problem all year and has been so unlike every other team we've seen under CBJ. Locker room problems can produce a lot of problems in play. Hopefully, with at least one of the problems finally being removed they can get back to the more typical team identity and play we're used to seeing from this group of players.

What was related on this thread reminded me of something I hadn't thought of in a long time.
In the Marine Corps they have a lot of leadership traits, principles, and ideas for unit leaders.
One of them is: "You are not the only person in this organization that wants it to succeed."
