Clearly tRant is no place for actual facts and logical discussion, as it has predictably gone into full "shite on UT" mode.

My personal opinion on the matter is that we need to fire Butch if and only if there is REAL proof, not hearsay, that everything he allegedly did and said according to the affidavit is true.

I just got done looking at the rant front page.

frick that place. Im tired of this bullshite "bash tennessee at any given opportunity" garbage.

I'm nearly to the point that i just want to never log onto the main forum ever again.

this place is the epitome of retardation. they take "allegations" and assume they are fact.

this whole case is a load of donkey shite and i eagerly await the day that the judge declares this shite closed.

Meh, they do that to every team that gets a negative story. From what I can see the rant is 70% trolling 30% "look at my team"

They're yucking it now, but if UT loses you can bet on these cases popping up everywhere.

The story that's always gone around on campus was that Drae was pursuing a relationship with this girl, who happened to be sleeping with A.J. Once it became apparent that Drae was going to find out about her and A.J., she went and tried to claim rape, and Drae bought the story. One thing led to another and you end up with Curt confronting him about it, and Marlin confronting him the next day in the Sport's cafe.

There were also apparently messages sent from this girl to A.J. claiming that she wanted a relationship, which would make since given the fact that her phone was magically 'destroyed' (along with the other Jane Doe recently added to the suit). Also why AJ's defense team wants access to the phone records.

Why would they need access to her records? Wouldn't they be in his phone too?

AJ and Mike Williams turned their phones into the police immediately, I assume the text messages would be in there, if they were in fact text messages and not phone calls.

We have the worst fricking luck in college sports. As soon as things start looking up for us shite like this happens. We're supposed to have a top 10 football team this season and all of a sudden all this happens

Sounds like they may be innocent then. I would think they would fight like hell to keep them if they were guilty.

It's pretty telling to be honest. The records might be able to have been subpoenaed, but it would have been a long laborious process with no sure chance of success. The fact that they cooperated and turned them over at the advice of their defense attorneys (who are very very good at what they do) says there's favorable evidence in those records for the defense. It's certain because prosecutors are actually fighting like hell to keep those records out. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with how uncharacteristic that typically is. Usually prosecution fights to ADMIT evidence and defense attorneys fight to suppress it.

The rant use to be a good place to discuss the sec. Back in the day, we could have logical threads/posts without the trolling/name calling.

Then, ATPB happened.

Exactly. Now I'm not saying they're innocent, but they cooperated with the authorities and the accusers did not. It's very bizarre.

I for one am not believing any of this bull shite till I see factual evidence. For all we know this could be a huge money grab. As of right know we got a top 15 football team and CBJ is our coach.

It's VERY likely the same stuff from earlier which Bowles denied happening. The lawyers in this case have been running and rerunning this shite piecemeal ("hey it focuses on THIS aspect" is the excuse) to get the maximum exposure. They're slime.

I am very, very confident in saying the stuff that came out this afternoon is fabricated.

I am the furthest thing you'll find from a Butch supporter/sunshine pumper, but from what I've heard the Bowles affidavit is not close to accurate.

I think he will have a very hard time to get any kind of corroboration on the team meeting or Maggitt assault since neither incident ever happened.

The fact that the plaintiffs added Von Pearson to the lawsuit is actually encouraging. This tactic of throwing shite against the wall to see what sticks is gonna backfire.

Their aim is to shame UT into a settlement with all these allegations. They're betting that UT won't call their bluff and go to court. We will see what happens.
