Nice get. He was a must in this class.
I was worried about Heupel being able to recruit at a high level when he was hired but he has made a believer on the that from.

I honestly believe coaches are less involved now. The collectives are doing the recruiting.

Seriously, Heupel came out of the gate slow on recruiting that first year or two. He has really stepped up his game with this class.
Several reasons:
1. UT has one of the top notch NIL collectives out there.
2. He is secure in his job.
3. The program is starting to sell itself again.
I do wish Heupel would make a couple staff tweaks.
Speaking of the program selling itself. Paul Yatkowski used to tell this story.
He was watching UT on TV playing UCLA (1991) with one of his Mesa CC teammates. Neyland was rocking that day, and Tennessee was rolling. He turned to his teammate and said, "can you imagine playing somewhere like Tennessee?"
Not long after that, UT came calling. Yatkowski was like, "let me grab my other shirt, and I'll be there in the morning."
It's not there yet, but it's getting there.
