Upon re-watching some of yesterday's defensive drives, Bryce Thompson is going to be a really, really good player. The biggest play that stands out was his huge deflection on Auburn's late first quarter drive that ended in a field goal.

Full Game on Youtube

The play starts at 21:40.

Look at how Thompson re-acquires his receiver and makes a perfect deflection on the ball to save the touchdown.

I am really excited to see how he continues to develop under Pruitt's watch.

Thanks for posting a link to the full game. I agree Thompson is going to be very good. So is Alontae Taylor!

We lose a lot on DL after this season but our secondary is going to be great next season.

Yeah, it isn't easy being a freshman in an SEC secondary, but Taylor and Thompson are both going to be really good. I think that coverages as a whole on Saturday were really good. I only saw a select number of busts. I imagine those will continue to go away as Pruitt gets this team more comfortable with his scheme.

EDIT: It should also be noted that I saw some vintage Warrior plays during the game as well. It was great to see him laying the lumber on some WRs.

Oh it was great to see Warrior lay out a few fools. Hopefully, he gets back to doing that regularly.

PFF just put this out. Our secondary is gonna be sooo good next year (assuming we avoid injury):

Thompson is going to end up being a huge steal for us from South Carolina. That may come back to really bite them in the arse down the road. Very fortunate to have him fall to us the way that he did. Both freshman CB's are going to be bull's for us moving forward

Also had a great pressure on Stidham in the end zone that caused an errant throw. Auburn punts and VOLS kick FG to be down only 17-13 going into the half. Sand Mountain Savior playing Chess. Gustavo playing checkers.

Check mated, Gustavo was.

Germy is now 5-1 vs Malzahn when coaching against AU in some capacity.

I gotta be honest: I knew Butch was trash at coaching but I'm still floored by how quick things are turning. Even in the losses, I have noticed things all over the field that points to vast improvements in coaching and player development.

Pretty astonishing honestly. Pruitt lives and breathes the game. Butch reminds me of a slightly taller Danny Devito in Matilda.
