Any IT guys on here?

I've been Doing Network/ Network Security in the Army for about 3 years. Based off of what I was taught in School and on the Job Training. Im taking the First of a Few certification Tests coming up On Thursday with Security + and Thought id ask the Few of us who are On here if they've had any experience or advice?

Advice for the test or career advice post Army service? I've been in IT for about 10 years.

Both would be huge, the latter of the two more so.
I start outprocessing the army towards the end of this year and would love to find a career back home in Knoxville, but don't know too much about the IT industry in the Knoxville/Oak Ridge area and even less if anyone would be willing to hire me.
I've been offered a job in Kaiserslautern, Germany as well as other places through out the States starting off at a good salary/benefits/housing allowance(for a 23 year old) contracted through the army. However, I'm trying to get back to Knoxville and away from the Gov't jobs if possible. Any advice would be appreiciated

ETA: By Gov't I mean Directly working with Army/AF/Navy/Marine Soldiers/Units on a daily basis. Like some of the poor souled civilians out here do
