It's absolutely pathetic. And they've done nothing in 40 years.

And I'm sorry, but Notre Dame doesn't have the nationwide fan base they used to have. Sure they have a regional fanbase, but it's almost all in the upper midwest, Chicago, New York City and the northeast.

I'm Catholic and I could absolutely care less about Notre Dame. The Jesuits are really hurting the Catholic Church anyway.

Notre Dame should not be eligible for the CFP until they join a conference. Do that, and Notre Dame would quickly relent.

The Big Ten and SEC have all the power here and they don't use it against ND.

What could really mess up the SEC is if Louisville goes 11 - 1, with the only loss being to Ole Miss, and Miami goes 11 - 1, with the only loss being to Notre Dame. You would most likely see both Miami and Louisville in the CFP, as Miami and Louisville do not face each other in the regular season.

The rule is also pathetic as Notre Dame is just playing a crazy soft schedule now.

The only nice thing, by playing a soft schedule, Notre Dame might get in the CFP, but they won't be ready when a team in the CFP hits them in the mouth. By not being battle testing, they are probably killing any chance of them actually winning an NC.
