If they sign with a team not because of a desire to play for that team, but because they have been paid more than they can say no to.

More to that story than that. Evans has been a model student and teammate at both TCU and Ole Miss. Sometimes coaches and players do not get along and we almost always seem to blame the players for some character flaw.
