I would say Tega and Key are comparable. I think Key will be a better edge rusher but Tega will be better in run defense.
I've been around both Key & Tega, Tega has a bigger frame/broader shoulders. He theoretically should be able to bulk up and keep his athleticism better. Tega bends extremely well for someone who is 6'8 but pad level is a huge deal to a guy like him.
I would trade Tega for Key in a heartbeat though. Key is/was a known quantity coming out of HS. He clearly understands rushing the passer and how to dip around the edge. I don't know if Garner is good enough to teach Tega how to be a great DE

I think that's fair. I would've loved to see what Orgeron could have done with Tega.
Key has had his moments so far. We need more pass rushers like him though. DE is thin, and some of our linemen are just now refining their pass rush moves.

Honestly, I think LSU and Baton Rouge would have been overwhleming for Tega.
I imagine Garner is gone after this year so I think whoever we bring in would be able to get Tega where he needs to be

Didn't he have family or caretakers who were AU fans/alumni?
