Maybe I shouldn’t say less

It’s definitely less. In the BCS, we never had the same title game. Half of the playoff seasons have had the same title game.

Clemson has already appeared in more title games in the playoff than any team did under the BCS.

It’s simple. All ESPN talks about is the playoff, so why should we expect kids to play for schools that don’t make that playoff?

The recruiting rankings have not been that different for the last 20 years

If kinda has.20 years ago UT,FSU and Miami
were all perrenial top 5 especially FSU.

Michigan has declined in many respects because Detroit metro has lost so much population

Still a metro population of over 4 million
and would still be the the 3rd largest metro in the SEC (not including Texas)

LSU was disrupted for several years as population left New Orleans

Not really. There was a little disruption when Saban left but they consistently top 10 and sometimes top 5 under Les.

California schools should be higher

Don't know bout that.Thd state is losing population and participation rates are way
down and they also supply 7 D1 schools in state and several other PAC 12 schools.PAC
12 is also way behind the BIG and SEC when it comes to TV money.

And same with Texas and Texas AM

Both are in a far better position than the CA schools.
