Not a great year for GA talent. Rest of the nation very triggered by the SEC finishing with the top 4 and 5 of 6 classes. UT will also be tope ten.
As always, it will come down to 2-3 top 10 recruits as to where UGA falls. Kirby has established himself at UGA as a national recruiter in the mold of Bama and Ohio State now so Dawgs will be in the mix every year regardless of talent in the state of Georgia. The 2019 class in Georgia wasn't great but Dawgs still finished #2 overall. Kirby has gotten the #1 player out of another state 10 times already in last three years. In 2019 class, Kirby landed both the #1 and the #2 player out of Alabama and the #1 player out of Florida (if you count Nolan Smith who is from Savannah, GA but played at IMG in Florida).
I don't see Dawgs finishing out of the top 3 and would put odds at 50/50 that we have the #1 overall class - at least based on average ranking per recruit. Dawgs will have less scholarships in 2020 so that could hurt the ranking somewhat.
I wish the ranking systems only took the top 20-22 players in each class - seems ridiculous that a team that signs 2-3 more players but has somewhat inferior players should be rewarded for those extra players - but it is what it is.

LSU will have a top 5 class this cycle again.

To fans of each team - how many players do you anticipate will be in your class?
I believe UGA projects right now to cap out in the 21-23 range. Dawg fans correct me if that is inaccurate.

Will they get a legit QB in that class?

Finley and Johnson are both legit QBs IMO. Still trying for DJ but I think that applies to everyone in the country lol

If Florida ends up too 3, well done Dan Mullen

With the way the class is looking right now I would think the plan is all 25

Well we have 2 right now. We will see who pans out.

Bama fans don't need to alert everyone when ranked #1, especially almost a year away from signing day(s).
You almost convinced yourself.

I hope you guys get a legit QB. I know Burrow has performed decent (beat our arse) but to beat Bama you gotta have a legit QB weapon. All the SEC pulling for you guys to unseat Bama in the West.

TJ FINLEY - QB

This is a bit of uncharted territory for the Tigers. LSU typically has found themselves chasing a quarterback in the offseason leading up to their senior seasons, as was the case in the 2018 cycle, all the way through National Signing Day - where they came up empty. The Tigers rebounded and landed Joe Burrow as a graduate transfer, then signed four-star Peter Parrish in the 2019 class. In between those additions, the Tigers built on the 2020 class by adding Louisiana's top quarterback prospect and a four-star on the 247Sports Composite. Finley a big arm and great size, and having him on board allows them to build the pieces around their quarterback class.
MAX JOHNSON - QB

LSU followed up Finley's commitment by landing a verbal pledge from Johnson in November, just after he wrapped up his junior year. A number of teams were in the mix for his signature, but Johnson said he felt comfortable with getting on board with LSU's class and the direction the program was headed. The Tigers then won a New Year's Six Bowl and got Johnson back to campus this past weekend for Junior Day, where he once again reaffirmed his commitment and added that he now plans to enroll early at LSU next January, giving him a head start on the rest of the 2020 class when it comes to balancing school and work with the team.

Florida is top five right now will stay there. Huge class in state and we've got our foot back in the door finally.

I believe they could get top 5. Top 3, as that other guy predicted, would impress me very much though

It’s long overdue. With a good QB it can happen, but it’s been our achilles heel for so long now. The 2 QB Commits we have are both Pocket Passers. A lot of potential there, but may be projects. After Burrow leaves there will be a wide open 4 man QB race.
Posted on 2/19/19 at 10:27 pm to TheTexasTiger7
WHich is scary because the last 3 man race ended with 2 of them transferring. Thank god we got Burrow

Who are you liking to take over? Obviously Brennan is the easy choice, but he just hasn’t gained any weight yet. If he can get to 200-210, he has a lot of potential. 6’5 and can sling it, plus the added bonus of learning the offense for 3 years. Parrish could be a really good Dual Threat RPO guy, and we know Brady will open up with a lot of RPO’s. Assuming Johnson and Finley both stay on board they have a lot of potential. Johnson is more ready, but Finley has such a high ceiling it’s absurd. 6’7 235 and has an absolute cannon. At least we have the guys coming in. We should be set for the next 5 years at QB. I can see 1 of the guys transferring. Ideally Brennan takes over for 2 years after Burrow leaves. You redshirt Parrish, Johnson, Finley. May the best man win after Brennan is gone.

I like Finley the most I think. Think he has the most potential and all the natural traits to be a great QB and durable in the SEC. He throws with some real zip too

That would probably be my choice of Finley, Johnson, and Parrish. I just think he holds such a high ceiling. Measurables are great. His arm is a cannon. I say you groom him to take over after Brennan. Work on his mechanics, accuracy, footwork, learn the playbook, he can be a great QB.

Way too early, but think Bama finishes in the top 10 this year. Too many staff changes over too long a period. Will do good to hold on to what they have and picking up new top rated guys just too hard
