The classes have not been rated very highly in recent years, but the staff seems to be very good at talent evaluation. We would take kids that texas and other schools did not want and send them to the NFL.

This year's class does seem very weak, but most of us expected that to happen. I don't know if the texas pipeline will completely dry up, but it will probably diminish. There are a ton of small towns very far apart in that state so the scouts seem to do a mediocre job at evaluating talent there.

It will be interesting to see if Mizzou can start digging into Big 10 country now, as I would assume there are kids from the midwest who would love to play in the SEC. I mean, we are midwest and we now play in the SEC.

I think they are digging into fla/ga more and just picking and choosing in the midwest. Their Texas pipeline will not completely dry up either.

Hershey,PA DT Harold Brantley will visit this weekend along with Alpharetta,GA DT Josh Manley. Both are Syracuse verbals. Brantley has some nice offers. This staff is desperate for a dt or 2. I hope we get Brantley.

Jake Meador will decide between Mizzou, Florida, and Wisconsin on signing day. The addition of Wisconsin to his finalist scares me.

He added Wisconsin because they just hired the old Ole Miss O-Line coach who is the guy who recruited Jake to Ole Miss. I would definitely say they are a player for him unfortunately.

Hmmm, Wisconsin having so much success with o-lineman doesn't help either.

Yeah and Markuson has put quite a few in the league as well himself. Question is how does the kid feel about snow.

That is one thing I really like/find interesting about the SEC, from at least what I have seen. Even if a school misses out on a recruit or isnt recruiting them, they still want the top kids to stay in the SEC. Im sure there have been exceptions but thats kind of cool to see everybody wants to play the best competition and wants what strengthens the conference the most.

Is this the first year since '09 that we will be waiting on some signatures. I believe the last 2 classes were locked up by signing day and now we have 4-6 spots to fill.

The strongest steel is forged from the hottest fire and that's what makes the SEC dynamite to play in.

Personally, I think Mizzou is wasting their time recruiting FL and GA but you may get one or two from time to time but not only are you competing against other SEC Teams much closer to FL and GA you are also competing against USF and all those damn ACC Teams.

I think Mizzou should spend a lot of time recruiting the Midwest against Big 10 Teams. I think you could pull some really good players out of there. Arkansas recently made some inroads into Chicago and we just hired two coaches from Ohio State and that's already paying off for us in teh Midwest. We also hired a couple of coaches recently who had been in the West for several years. Their ties are really helping in Arizona, Nevada , California and other western states.

They won't compete with the top tier sec schools in the southeast but I think they can beat the ACC schools for some 2nd tier kids.

They have shown they will still recruit the midwest and texas. I'm not worried about the decommits there will be some kids in texas that will want to play in the SEC and aren't going to aTm.

I've said it often that not all players in Texas want to stay and play for a school in Texas. The same can be said for any state. However, you have to have a staff willing to put forth the effort to find those players and show them what you, your coaching staff and the university has to offer.

We didn't have that with Nutt and his band of buffoons but we do now with Petrino. Our recruiting has gotten better every year at Arkansas.

Mizzou coaches in Springfield right now. The Mizzou football bus is parked in front of Hillcrest High School.

How exactly does the Mizzou Football team use that bus? Surely the football team doesn't travel by bus to away games, do they?

Bang Bus.

It is used to shuttle the team from the hotel to stadium.
