Whaaaaaaaaa? You must live nowhere near Atlanta nor go to it ever.

Gwinnett County. I go to Atlanta quite often and there are nice areas, but it is quickly on its way to becoming the Detroit of the south. Areas like Bankhead are becoming the norm instead of areas like Buckhead.

Gwinnett County? That makes you an expert on the city of Atl then

Detroit of the south? You really need to get out more...Atl
is a much better place than it was 20 yrs ago even 10 yrs ago. Why don't you look at the price of homes in the Va Highlands,Midtown,West Midtown,Brookhaven,Inman Park areas. Hell, even East Atlanta Village, Grant Park and Luckie-Marietta area are completely dicfferent places than 15 yrs ago.

All the public housing projects have been demolished...(one reason Clayton Co and S Fulton turned shitty...many of those tenents moved to section 8 housing in those places)

No doubt crime and the city govt are huge issues but you can't even compare the 2 cities in any way.

Thank God you don't have illegal immigrant and drug cartel issues in Gwinnett

He doesn't have a UGA offer, but UGA doesn't have many LB slots available this year.

Only two spots available in this class. Nice pick up by the Rebs though.

Man, you can be fricking stupid can't you? The poster said that I must live nowhere near Atl, Gwinnett County is part of Metro Atlanta. I never said it made me an expert, but compared to your rose-colored glasses view I certainly am.

Home prices in all those areas are up from 20 years ago? Well, color me shocked. The price of everything is up from 20 years ago. Prices are down in the last 5-10 years overall, though. Crime is up, depending on the metric you use, but regardless of up or down, it is still ridiculously high. Also, you completely avoid the issue with the school boards and the rampant racism or the fact that the half of the county that actually supports the city of Atlanta is about to split and re-form a separate county.

We do have those issues with crime you mention in Gwinnett, thanks. Guess where it came from?

Good God,you are clueless...can you even fricking read?
I said it was a much "better place" than it was 20/10 yrs ago.I really don't you have a clue as to where any of those places are that I mentioned and I really doubt you could afford to live in any of those area I mentioned. Home prices are through roof in those areas and if Atlanta is the "Detroit of the South" there is no way thoseprices in the city would have that value...people would be moving out in droves. Home values don't go down of the course of 20 yrs? Really? check out the price of real estate in Detroit 20 yrs ago compared to today..

Half of what county supports Atl ? Fulton? Good God, you are clueless. I grew up in Sandy Springs...the taxes paid were going to supprt South Fulton (which is pretty much a shithole) City of Atl has its own property tax base
(mostly from those area I mentioned from the prevoius post) and believe me, collects more than enough revenue (too much if you ask me)

Did I not say crime and city govt were issues? Did you even read my last sentence?

So the crime in Gwinnett comes from Atl? Really? Did those people move in from the city? Do they take Marta up there? I'd say most of your crime come from Mexico and I'd betcha almost any soliciter or DA up there would agree with me.

You're the one who compared Atl to Detroit not me.
