Speedy has never been hit before as a football player. Doubt he makes it past his first practice.

You guys have a coach to properly develop him as a WR?

Sorry truth hurts. Look at the LSU game for example. Your best WR got shutdown by a True Freshman

Russell Shepard had been hit before. Some guys make the transition at an elite level- Hines Ward, Early Doucet. Some guys for whatever reason dont make the transition- Eric Crouch, Russell Shepard. You can sit here and pretend all you want but one guy has a proven track record at the recruited position. One doesnt.

With that said he has incredible upside. 40+ vertical leap. Elite speed. He also hasnt been making the catch in traffic while a safety is taking a shot.

I wanted him. Pissed we didnt get him. However I dont feel like Im making excuses or anything when I say in the short term ie next year Quinn will have a bigger impact and be more polished than speedy. Its only natural one has played WR his whole career the other has just played it in 7 on 7 games.

Dont see whats funny about that. Running qb like speedy (and at a higher level) who was a 3rd round draft pick as a WR and couldnt make it.

Are you seriously comparing the NFL to college football?

Im comparing elite talents at one level trying to make a transition in position while moving to the next level. Some guys can do it. Antwaan Randle El did it from college to NFL. Some guys cant.

I can do some more high school to college if youd like. Even more examples of that.

It's funny that folks from Texas(Houston area) claim to have The Best High School Football in the country yet you have to go into Louisiana to grab players? That's the difference with you and TEXAS, they don't have to. Kids in Texas want to go to UT unlike A&M. You Aggie TURDS will always finish behind someone, you SUCK!

Do you want me to list all the record breaking college receivers who did nothing in the NFL to prove how ridiculous your point is?

I dont think its a ridiculous point to think that the high school receiving yards leader in a higher class in the same state will have an surer transition/higher floor than a kid who has never played WR in a formal game. I honestly dont see how that can be argued.

No ceilings for a kid with speedys talent. However there is unquestionably more risk than a kid with decent measurables who holds the high school record for receiving yards.

LSUNV

Record the last 15 games is 8-7 (A&M leads)
Also played 15 yrs in a row in BR 60-75
A&m won in 74 & 75... McLendon canceled series
A&M won 91-95 LSU canceled series w/ 2 games left on contract

Ark joined SEC in '92.. So excuse of canceling series w/ A&m due to scheduling in 96-97 doesn't fly

So you're saying the SEC is weaker than the Big12?
